What should I wear to judo practice?


For beginners, comfortable workout attire such as a T-shirt and sweatpants is suitable. As you progress, you'll want to invest in a judo gi (uniform) which consists of a jacket, pants, and belt (obi).


Do I need any prior experience to join?


No prior experience is necessary! Our classes cater to individuals of all skill levels, from complete beginners to experienced practitioners. Our instructors will provide personalized guidance to help you progress at your own pace.


Is judo suitable for children?


Absolutely! According to the World Health Organization is the best training sport for children from 5 to 12 years of age. It is also the safest contact sport for children under the age of 13. Judo is an excellent activity for children, promoting physical fitness, coordination, discipline, and respect for others. We offer classes specifically tailored to different age groups and skill levels.


Are there opportunities for competition?


Yes, if you're interested in competitive judo, we offer training and support for local, national, and even international competitions. However, participation in competitions is entirely optional, and many of our members train solely for recreation and self-improvement.


Is judo safe?


Safety is our top priority. Our instructors are highly trained and experienced in teaching judo techniques in a controlled and supportive environment. We adhere to strict safety protocols and ensure that all participants are properly supervised during training. Additionally we have a sprung floor to further enhance our safety during practice.


Can adults join, or is judo only for kids?

Do I need to be in shape to start judo?


No, you do not need to be in peak physical condition to start judo. Our classes are designed to accommodate individuals of varying fitness levels and abilities. With consistent training, you'll gradually improve your strength, flexibility, and endurance over time. In fact, after rowing, Judo is the exercise with the highest calorie consumption at 363 calories in just 30 minutes!


Can I try a class before committing to membership?
